Maybe it's just me, but I feel that St. Patrick's day offers a great excuse for us to head out a bit later than usual and to plan on collecting somewhere after the ride to grab a drink. Every spring we look to poll the group on what you want to accomplish this year and how you would like to see the rides structured. This year we might as well discuss the options over a drink. Hopefully people will turn out for a nice early season ride and a chance to share your thoughts on the upcoming season.
Given that it's early in the season and we have no idea what the weather will look like, we will plan on a relatively short ride on 3/17 to get our legs back. Probably a jaunt out Middle and then back in Rte 88 (MapMyRide route). It will be the first Saturday after we push the clocks forward, so we're thinking it makes sense to head out at 11:00 with the hope that we will be sitting somewhere warm with a drink in hand around 12:30.
If you have thoughts on where we should head after the ride, or if you want to voice your thoughts on the upcoming season, please leave a comment (name included so we can follow-up) and/or drop me an email.

I'm in!
Lets go all out and do a century the first ride! j/k!
I'm not ready to commit, i just got a new wheelset, and the roads still seem a bit cruddy. I'll be riding by the first of april though!
I would like to retract my above statement. I'm in!!
Weather looks decent. Low forties. I'll give it a shot. Is there a sag wagon!?
I'm in and I like the way you think Sean.

P.S. the spam bot thing is almost too hard for me--good grief
I got "side mirrored" by a GMC Acadia on the way home from the ride today. It passed me very close and the mirror hit me in the back of the humerus bone and folded the mirror back. I stayed upright and neither me or my bike was damaged. Westbrook and Windham PD looked for it, but I'd have heard by now if they found it. I was too busy trying to stay vertical to get the plate number. I was hugging the white line and couldn't have given them any more room.
What color? What road? Damn them! Really great your handling skills kept you up. Let's start packing firearms. A glock is only a few thousand grams. We could offset the weight with those carbon H2O cages?!
It was black, and it happened in Westbrook on Cumberland St right near the Sappi Mill.
It was good to see you Adam. I can't wait to get into the grind of things!
