12/10 Saturday Ride

I think we need to give this one to Mother Nature: it might make it to 27° by 2:00, and snow is on the doorstep. I guess we should finally draw the curtain on the SMR for the year, though only missing the last two weeks isn't bad!

Watch the Facebook page for last-minute, "oh, it might warm up for a day" rides, but otherwise, I'll see you next year.

12/3 Saturday Ride

I just drove down from Yarmouth on Middle Rd and enjoyed a fresh layer of new tarmac from somewhere after Burnham Road to the split with Rte 9. Maybe we should go put skinny tires on it, maybe on the way to  Brunswick? Pinelands?

Tomorrow looks a bit cool but, if we start at 10:00, we should stay in the 40s for the duration.

11/26 Saturday Ride

We're going to take advantage of Bruce's planned route for the turkey burner and ride out of Westbrook tomorrow. Meet in the CVS parking lot on Main St. Wheels roll at 10:00.

Weather has sunk the ride today, but tomorrow looks more promising. I will post for the SMR starting at the shop, and Bruce will reschedule this ride to s later date.

11/19 Saturday Ride

I am out of town this weekend, but Bruce plans to be at the (former) shop at 9, ready to ride. (He seems to be getting a cold at this very moment, so he may not make it.)  Sunny day, mild temperatures.  Route is flexible, but here is a possibility:

The temps are predicted to be about 39° at 9:00 on Saturday, but it' going to be 47° 24 hours later...we will go on Saturday unless I hear some dissent. OOB?

11/5 Saturday Ride

Well, I was fully planning on the Saco ride this weekend because the weather was supposed to be nice, but now it looks like we'll be in the mid-forties. I will be there ready to ride, but we may want to keep the ride to a manageable time. The Freeport loop, Pinelands, and Westbrook would all qualify, but feel free to bring suggestions. Wheels roll at 9:00.

10/29 Saturday Ride

Tomorrow's weather could go either way, but I think we might get lucky in the morning. Our best chance is with an 8:00 start, but it should be about 40’, so it should be fine. Route TBD based on riders.

10/22 Saturday Ride

Well, it looks like we might miss the rain in the morning. Let's start at 9:00 to give the roads a chance to dry out a little, and we'll make the route call at the shop. Bring your ideas!

10/14 Saturday Ride

Due to the rescheduling of the Merrymeeting Ride to this Sunday (and the assumption that a lot of us are panning on that), I was planning on something a bit more tame than has been our recent habit: how about 40 miles or so out to Pinelands? we can go Freeport if people prefer, so the more masochistis of us can branch off and do Brunswick, too, or I can just tell you how to add another 10-15 miles past Pinelands.

We'll gain 6° if we wait until 9:00--see you then.

10/8 Saturday Ride

I'm out on Monhegan still closing up the house, so I won't be back for the morning ride (and on such an awesome weekend, too!). Dealer's choice tomorrow, but I'm thinking Saco next weekend unless you beat me to it.

Sorry for the late post, but I'm off to do the Dempsey Challenge, and then the Cadillac. It's a dealer's choice tomorrow.

9/24 Saturday Ride

The Dempsey Challenge and the Cadillac Challenge are both two weekends away; I know a lot of us are doing one or the other (guess who's doing both?), so we need one more ride with hills. It's either Pinelands or Brunswick, I think, leaning towards Brunswick: the Not Dead Yet ride will be going Saturday morning out of Pinelands, and we may not want to navigate crowded roads. The table is open for comments.

This is the weekend of the Loon Echo Trek, friends: if you haven't done this ride, you owe it to yourself to give it a try! Lots of climbing, beautiful scenery, good cause. I'm sure our intrepid Randonneurs de France will drop me like a box of rocks, so I'm going to need company, but just look at this map--what could be more fun??

In the meantime, we need a route for anyone who's not going. This is early enough warning that you have some time to consider, and just email me or leave a comment about a preferred route. If the Randonneurs have had enough of climbing, they may be interested in simply doing the flat 50-miler to OOB and Gorham that we didn't do last week (to avoid conflicting with the Lighthouse and Parkinson's rides). Think about it, let me know.

9/10 Saturday Ride

Well, Labor Day is gone and so are most of the tourists: it must be time for OOB! Bring two bottles and some snacks.
