5/6 SUNDAY Ride

Well, the title tells the story. After seriously hemming and hawing about whether to head out on Saturday morning, we have decided to move the ride to Sunday morning. Right now it looks like Saturday could be ok, but given the distance we have planned we decided that Sunday was a better choice.

So, we will leave the shop on Sunday at 8:00 and head up to Brunswick, basically skirting the edge of town before we head back (MapMyRide route).

We will tentatively plan a short route as well (MapMyRide route). However, since we are switching the days we are not positive that there will be a leader for the shorter route. If you are willing to lead the shorter ride, please drop me an email.

If you have any questions, want to complain about the schedule switching or just want say hi, leave a comment or drop me an email.

Saturday looks like same weather as Sunday. I vote to keep Saturday. Not so easy to switch.

I think we should do both Saturday and Sunday! But if we can do only one, Saturdays weather looks well enough, right now anyway.

From WCSH6: " Scattered showers with patchy drizzle and fog tonight and early Saturday morning. Brighter skies develop for the afternoon and that means milder temperatures as well. Sunday and Monday look real nice!"

Hi all.

We're going to stick to Sunday. We realize that moving the ride around is tough for scheduling purposes, but when we run these longer rides we really need to be mindful of the group as a whole.

One of the issues that pushed the ride to Sunday is that the weather forecast is calling for 60% chance of rain in the morning and temps in the 40s (from weather underground). They have backed off that a bit, dropping the chance of precipitation to 40% at 11am, but it still looks to be a better than even chance that we will get wet.

While the wet weather alone probably wouldn't be an issue, the route was the real driving force. For many of our routes, we have ways to shorten the ride so that we can adapt. This route to Brunswick doesn't provide those options. On top of that, the route keeps near the coast, where the east winds will keep things damp even if the rain stops.

If folks want to gather tomorrow and go for a ride, by all means meet up and ride. But, for the sake of giving people the best chance to get the most out of the ride we have planned, we will do the planned route on Sunday, leaving the shop at 8am.
