The fall centuries are upon
us! Here is the schedule so far:
9/21 Loon Echo (unsupported, but we miss it, so we’re going!)
9/28 Dempsey Challenge (if you’d like to join a team, I invite you to join Molly’s
Marshals [story below])
10/6 Cadillac Challenge (the prettiest century in Maine, and that’s saying something)
As I hope to be riding in all of these, that gives us just two weeks to get some miles into the legs. I think I’ll let you do the flat miles during the week, and we’ll concentrate on some hills on the weekends. So, our next two rides look like this:
8/31 We need to head either to Brunswick (65 miles & 2700’ of climbing) orRemember to pack some sunscreen, good snacks, and two bottles. See you at 8:00.
All Uphill to Pinelands (52 miles & 2900’ of climbing, with an optional
11-mile kicker for an additional 700’). Load them both, come with a preference. 9/7 Whichever we didn't do on 9/7
9/14 You guessed it: Raymond Hills for 60 miles and 4000’ of climbing.
STORY: In a cruel twist of fate, one of our attorneys here at Pierce Atwood, after spending two years of pro-bono work helping the Maine Cancer Center and Dempsey Center combine into a single entity, learned that his wife's cancer has reasserted itself. In honor of her and all those fighting the disease, we have formed Team Molly's Marshalls. If you would like to join the group as a rider, walker, runner, or Rest Stop volunteer, there is a place for you! If you'd like to sponsor me in this effort, there is a link for you!
